CC 2149 H. emelyae v. picta
S. of OUDTSHOORN, nr. Molen River.
Grown from seed ex CG, 93-43, and
sown on 07/09/1993.
Unfortunately only one plant was
produced from 31 seeds but we're
delighted to tell you that we have received additional material
from Christian & Françoise Prud'hon of
www.alshaworthia.com &
now have the potential to produce seed in future years.

This speckling in the throat of the leaf is also found in some
very attractive H. mirabilis v. badia. See Gallery 8f,
CC 2044.

G. MARX 259, 30Km SOUTH of OUDTSHOORN.
Steve Hammer sent me some 28 seed
which were sown on 26/06/1994. 7 plants resulted, one of which was triple-headed but
was divided up on re-potting.

YO 795 and sown on 10/07/1989.
Small, pointed and very pink
leaves.

Grown from Yui Ochi seed,
YO 3002, sown 10/07/1989. Plant diameter = 10cms.
Dark and richly coloured with an
almost reptilian beauty.
In the summer of 1996 I circulated
seed batch CCO 529 produced from this group when they flowered
for the first time.

The plant produced two heads - this is
the larger of the two.

Received as a small plant
from Roberto Mangani on 01/03/1987.
It had been grown from NCSS seed he had
sown in 1980. Still petite and with such a lovely colour,
sometimes known as 'black picta'.
