CC 747 H. monticola (as divergens)
CG 339 - received from Cok Grootscholten in
1989.
Offset from a field collected plant ex Japan
but with no locality.
It's not like other H. divergens we
have but is quite like H. variegata or even H. zantneriana. |

CC 63 H. parksiana
ex Jumanery in 03/1986
as a dwarf rosette, 3cm diam with reddish, dark leaves.
By Jan 1987 it was 4 cm in diam,
had a virtual tap root + one offset. At that time, out of curiosity,
I removed one leaf
to try rooting it in Clearcut Gel but the leaf rotted. It's not
really necessary to use complex methods to propagate this species.
By Sept '87 there was a second offset present and by 1998 there were
19 heads, - so I divided up the clump.
This photograph was taken on
04/06/2002. |

CC 3355 H. pulchella
One of 10 plants grown from
seed received from Peg Spaete ex ISI plants and sown on 09/02/1989.
A seldom offsetting, richly dark species with strong
teeth and reticulate veins.
Usually small in stature but one of the clones we have
is quite large. |

CC 3349 H. pulchella.
Seed from Peg Spaete ex ISI plants and sown
on 09/02/1989.
This is the largest H. pulchella I
have seen; it's usually a dusky colour but we've had such poor
light levels this year, 2007.
These NEW
photographs show the plant at Ø 80mm when it was sold at
Auction at the Haworthia Society Convention in Leicester 2007 |

CC 3160 H. pulchella v. globifera
TOUWSBERG MBB 6762
Received from Stirling Baker in 1999
ex Sheilams.
Although a gloriously different
colour to the leaves, the reticulate, darker venation persists.
Note too,
the mahogany coloured leaf tips and finely toothed margins to the leaves.
Offsets are formed around the base and can be detached when large enough.
These NEW
photographs 2 & 3 show the plant at Ø 95mm, with 3+ offsets
when it was sold at Auction at the Haworthia Society Convention in
Leicester 2007

CC 3188 H. outeniquensis
- HEROLD, JDV 92/9
From Alan Rollason on 21/04/2000, ex
Vincent de Vries, Melvin Nurseries, Oudtshoorn.
Pinkish from good, summer light, veined &
with small teeth, it's now (10/2003) forming two small offsets. |

CC 464 H. wittebergensis
This clone was obtained as a single-headed plant from Jumanery
in August 1989.
I have not had outstanding success in producing seed
and/or seedlings
from this species but as the plants become more mature they will offset
around the base.
These offsets can be removed when they are twice the size
of those shown in the photograph and will often have roots already
present.
This species has very slender leaves which hold little
succulence, the fleshy roots providing the alternative reservoir.
Warning! Fleshy
roots can rot if over-watered but additional grit in the compost will
improve drainage and permit you to water more confidently.
Too little
water and the plants can dry up completely.
The drying tips of the
leaves are, however, quite normal for this species.
See the very slender
flower spike in the top centre?

CC 1238 H. wittebergensis with
3 small offsets forming. From
our own CCO 318 seed sown on 25/12/1992.
Difficult to propagate, this is one of
only 2 plants raised from 31 seeds and is the taller of the two
plants offered.
These NEW
photographs show the plant at Ø 95mm, with 3+ offsets when
it was sold at Auction at the Haworthia Society Convention in

CC 1982 H. wittebergensis
with 2 small offsets forming.
From our own CCO 318 seed sown 25/12/1992.
Difficult to propagate, this is the second
of only 2 plants raised from 31 seeds and is the more sturdy of
the two plants offered..

photographs show the plant at Ø 95mm, with 3+ offsets when
it was sold at Auction at the Haworthia Society Convention in
